Moving Straps

Moving Straps are one of the key pieces of hardware to help both first-time movers and professional movers get through the move. Moving Straps are used to secure boxes together, tie down heavy personal belongings, as well as making sure that Electronics, Furniture, and Appliances stay secured to the floor during the move. Not having any cargo secured during transportation could result in damage from tipping over, a sudden lane change, or having to brake hard due to something in the roadway.

Moving Straps are one of the best tools that you can use when you are planning on using Move Blankets to keep the moving blankets wrapped around the items you are fastening down. This helps to prevent any scratches from occurring to your Moving Blankets, as well as providing a great way to keep those personal belongings from tipping over.

Cargo that tips over or becomes not secured during your move can result in scratches, dings, dents, or completely destroyed resulting in a new product needing to be purchased or replaced for the customer. Not only does this throw a damper on your move, but can also cost companies costly insurance claims or a much lower chance on a returning customer. The one common thing that we hear time and time again is that we didn’t know we needed the extra securement until it was too late.

The most common types of Moving Straps by far are Cam Buckle Straps and Ratchet Straps. The main differences between the two types of tie down straps are one is used to secure cargo more tightly and heavier cargo by using a Ratchet. The second type of Moving Straps is a Cam Buckle which is tightened using the amount of force that you are able to secure by using the force of your hand to tighten cargo. Which Moving Strap works best for your application really depends on your cargo or personal belongings you are intending on moving.

If the cargo you are intending on moving is lighter in weight and or can become damaged from tightening too tightly such as antiques, glassware, pottery, or homemade goods. If the cargo you are securing is heavier in weight or able to be secured without the worry of damaging boxes, cargo, or personal belongings then you will want to use a ratchet strap as the ideal moving strap.
